THE DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH OF THE SIERRA NEVADA DESERT
HOLE#9 - 336 yards, Par 4, dogleg right. Who designed this course, Jack Nicklaus? Another dogleg right with OB right also. 2 large cottonwoods guard the dogleg. Long hitters can cut the corner, naturally (they always cut corners). But we should play it to the gap & have 150 yards left to green. Green is similar to #6 with severe slope, back to front. Don’t get above the cup. Small trap (#2 on course) to right of green.
HOLE#18 - 342 yards, Par 4, dogleg right. Ditto #9 except for the advantage of a slightly elevated tee box. Hey, last hole, let ‘er rip. Then hit a provisional ball to the gap & play it in. Then hurry to the bar & enjoy a cold one. Six packs are cheaper.
